Humans have long shared a symbiotic relationship with cats and dogs, and within a household, their behaviour reflects their intrinsic roles as companions. A dog, natural guardian, watches over thresholds and boundaries, standing between the domestic and the wild, the known and the unknown, the sacred and the profane. Though it may occasionally indulge in affectionate cuddles, it remains ever-vigilant, ready to protect its “pack” from potential threats. With acute senses of smell and hearing, it excels at detecting intruders or unusual events beyond the home. A cat, a frequent traveler between the outside and the inside, is instinctively drawn to spaces like living rooms, sofas, and beds—places where humans are often emotionally vulnerable. Its presence embodies guardianship over the home’s intangible qualities, safeguarding the emotional and spiritual well-being of its inhabitants.

To bring these apotropaic charms to life, place them in the spaces where you spend the most time, allowing them to serve as both companions and symbolic guardians. Position the dog facing the door, to watch over the household’s threshold, and the cat in a central or elevated spot in your living room or bedroom, where it can protect the heart of your home.

The concept for this project was born from the desire to create something that could help calm the unease we sometimes felt in our personal spaces. We thought it would be meaningful to share these little symbols, hoping they bring a similar sense of peace, reassurance and a touch of colour to your space.

Gli esseri umani hanno a lungo condiviso una relazione simbiotica con cani e gatti, e all'interno di una casa, il loro comportamento riflette i loro ruoli intrinseci come compagni. Un cane, guardiano naturale, veglia sulle soglie e sui confini, ponendosi tra il domestico e il selvatico, il conosciuto e l'ignoto, il sacro e il profano. Sebbene possa occasionalmente concedersi delle coccole affettuose, rimane sempre vigile, pronto a proteggere il suo “branco” da potenziali minacce. Con un olfatto e udito acutissimi, eccelle nel rilevare intrusi o eventi insoliti al di là della soglia della casa. Un gatto, viaggiatore frequente tra l'interno e l'esterno, è istintivamente attratto da spazi come salotti, divani e letti, luoghi in cui gli esseri umani sono spesso emotivamente vulnerabili. La sua presenza incarna una sorta di protezione delle qualità intangibili della casa, salvaguardando il benessere emotivo e spirituale dei suoi abitanti.

Per dare vita a questi talismani apotropaici, posizionateli negli spazi in cui trascorrete più tempo, permettendo loro di fungere sia da compagni che da guardiani simbolici. Sistemate il cane rivolto verso la porta, per sorvegliare la soglia della casa, e il gatto in un punto centrale o elevato del salotto o della camera da letto, dove possa proteggere il cuore della vostra casa.

Il concetto di questo progetto è nato dal desiderio di creare qualcosa che potesse aiutare a calmare il disagio che a volte provavamo nei nostri spazi personali. Abbiamo pensato che sarebbe stato significativo condividere questi piccoli simboli, nella speranza che portino una simile sensazione di pace, rassicurazione e un tocco di colore al vostro ambiente.

Ludzie od wieków żyją w symbiotycznej relacji z kotami i psami,
a ich zachowanie w domu odzwierciedla ich istotną role jako towarzyszy. Pies, będący naturalnym strażnikiem, czuwa nad progami i granicami, stojąc pomiędzy środowiskiem domowym
i dzikością, znanym i nieznanym, sacrum i profanum. Choć czasami oddaje się czułym pieszczotom, pozostaje czujny, gotowy chronić swoje „stado” przed wszelkimi zagrożeniami. Dzięki wyostrzonym zmysłom węchu i słuchu, doskonale wyczuwa intruzów i nietypowe sytuacje poza domem. Kot, który często przemieszcza się między światem zewnętrznym a wewnętrznym, instynktownie wybiera miejsca takie jak salony, sofy czy łóżka—przestrzenie, w których ludzie są szczególnie emocjonalnie otwarci. Jego obecność stanowi ochronę niematerialnych aspektów domu, dbając o emocjonalne i duchowe dobro jego mieszkańców.

Aby nadać tym apotropaicznym symbolom życie, umieść je
w miejscach, w których spędzasz najwięcej czasu. Pozwól im pełnić rolę zarówno towarzyszy, jak i symbolicznych strażników. Ustaw psa naprzeciwko drzwi, aby czuwał nad progiem domu,
a kota w centralnym lub podwyższonym miejscu w salonie lub sypialni, gdzie będzie chronić serce twojego domu.

Projekt zrodził się z chęci stworzenia czegoś, co pomoże złagodzić niepokój, który czasami odczuwamy w naszych przestrzeniach osobistych. Uznaliśmy, że warto podzielić się tymi symbolami, mając nadzieję, że przyniosą one poczucie spokoju, bezpieczeństwa i odrobinę koloru do waszych domów.

Życzymy wielu chwil wypełnionych miłością oraz radością, które sprawiają, że przestrzeń domowa staje się domem.
